Current Openings

Character Artist, Contractor

At Iridium Studios, you’d be joining a small but dedicated group of game developers with a passion for role-playing games and complex, highly character-driven stories. Those stories require cinematics, and those cinematics require excellent animation!

Requirements:

  • Sculpt, retopologize, and texture next-gen characters for a dynamic RPG title
  • Collaborate with the Artists, Game Designers, and Programmers to ensure art assets are high-quality, support the artistic direction of the project, and are fully optimized
  • Be proactive in problem-solving, cross-discipline brainstorming
  • Receive feedback and modify work based on direction

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of industry experience as a Character Artist
  • Advanced understanding of ZBrush, 3DSMax/Maya, Substance Designer/Painter, Adobe Photoshop, and/or other game production tools
  • Experience creating assets within a Physically Based Shading and Lighting model
  • Experience working with Unreal 4 game engine
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Self-direction, passion, and creativity in your work
  • Is nice to people

Nice to Have:

  • An affinity for stylization
  • Strong understanding or experience in technical art

Environment Artist, Contactor

At Iridium Studios, you’d be joining a small but dedicated group of game developers with a passion for role-playing games and complex, highly character-driven stories. But those stories need a spotlight, and that’s where you come in!

Responsibilities:

  • Create, model, and texture level environments and other game objects
  • Collaborate with the Artists, Game Designers, and Programmers to ensure art assets are high-quality, support the artistic direction of the project, and are fully optimized
  • Be proactive in problem-solving, cross-discipline brainstorming
  • Receive feedback and modify work based on direction

     

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of industry experience as an Environment Artist, or other relevant experience
  • Expertise in modeling, texturing, and material work for environments and props
  • Experience with modern art principles and techniques such as lighting, composition, color theory, and staging
  • Advanced understanding of 3DSMax/Maya, Substance Designer/Painter, ZBrush, Adobe Photoshop, and/or other game production tools
  • Experience creating assets within a Physically Based Shading and Lighting model
  • Experience working with Unreal 4 game engine
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Self-direction, passion, and creativity in your work
  • Is nice to people

Nice to Have:

  • An affinity for stylization
  • Ability to create from your own ideas, not just from pre-existing concept art
  • Strong understanding or experience in technical art
